Reduced price deadline TODAY for Round the Mountain
QUICK!
A reduced price deadline for participants in Kimberley’s Round the Mountain Festival is today, Tuesday, Jan. 8.
“In just two years Round the Mountain grew from concept to being one of the largest outdoor festivals in the region, attracting 400 participants in 2012. For 2013 the registration will be capped at 450 and since Boxing Day we have filled 10% of those spots,” reported event co-organizer Jim Webster.
Round the Mountain is a day of fun hiking, biking, running, orienteering, food and music all held at the Kimberley Nordic Centre.
This year the event is being held on June 22, hosted by the Kootenay Freewheelers, Kimberley Trails Society and the Kootenay Orienteering Club.
All proceeds from the festival go back to the local clubs for improving trail experiences within the community. Examples of past funding: Contribution to the Magic Line Trail construction, Round the Mountain and Lois Creek Trail signage and mapping. Future projects: Horse Barn Valley Interpretive Forest mapping, Lois Creek Trailhead map and signage.
