COTR hosting 2013 Provincial Volleyball Championship
College of the Rockies is proud to host the 2013 PACWEST Volleyball Provincial Championship February 21 to 23.
Approximately 240 student athletes will begin to arrive in Cranbrook on February 20.
Participating teams will be competing hard for an opportunity to advance to the CCAA National Championship which will lead to some very exciting, high-quality volleyball being played in each match of the tournament.
Manager of Campus Life and Athletics, Cori Andrichuk says, “We are very excited to welcome the top six men’s and top six women’s teams in B.C. to the college. We wish all the athletes, coaches and team delegates a great stay and hope that they have an unforgettable experience.”
College of the Rockies Men’s Avalanche have earned a berth in the competition and are looking to represent the high-quality program that exists at the college and to perform well in front of the home-town crowds.
A schedule of the matches is available on the PACWEST website: www.pacwestbc.ca/volleyball2013/. If you can’t make it to the College of the Rockies’ gymnasium to take in the tournament, all matches will be broadcast at: www.sportscanada.tv .
Tickets to watch the Provincial Championship are $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors and will be available at the door. Children under the age of 12 will be admitted for free.
