Rodeo full of thrills and spills

The 29th annual Cranbrook Professional RodeoĀ August 14-16 was another thrilling three-days of cowboy and cowgirl skills on display at the Wycliffe Exhibition Grounds.

Action included bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, tie down roping, ladiesā€™ barrel racing and bull riding.

The hilarious Dennis Halstead ā€“ rodeo clown extraordinaire returned from a 10-year hiatus to keep the hundreds of rodeo fans, who turned out Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon, entertained.

And Shelby Cummingsā€™ half time trick riding performance showcased incredible skill and athleticism.

Wes Cummings once again kept the audiences informed and engaged, kibitzing freely with Halstead.

Rodeo participants arrived from all over Western Canada, the USA and Australia, including Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C., North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Texas, New York and Idaho.

Rodeo results have not yet been posted but try this location in the near future to obtain them.
