Parade punctuates 49th Sam Steele Days
The 49th annual Sam Steele Days celebration in Cranbrook was all that was billed and more.
The three days of festivities was, as always, highlighted by the annual parade – once again a mammoth meandering moving from Baker Park, past Rotary Park, around to and down Baker Street.
Floats and entries from throughout the city, region, B.C. and Montana once again inserted gobs of colour and character into the late morning parade, held June 15.
Thousands of people lined the parade route once again, saving their loudest cheers for the second year running for a couple of dozen men who ‘Walked a Mile’ in high-heeled shoes; thousands of dollars were raised this past weekend by city men daring to have their legs waxed to raise funds for regional kids. But more on that later.
E-KNOW had three cameras shooting the action Saturday. The images included are a sample of what we captured.
Check back, we will be running photo presentations on a variety of Sam Steele Days events over the next few days.
