EKFH helps fund new Transport Ventilator
The High Acuity Response Team (HART) was excited to recently receive their new Hamilton-T1 Transport Ventilator.
The East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) was proud to be able to provide $64,000 on behalf of donors to purchase this life saving equipment.
The campaign was kicked off by the East Kootenay Community Credit Union donating $2,500. TB Vets came on board with a wonderful donation of $20,000. Another $37,000 came from the IH Payroll lottery that the Foundation puts on, and the remainder came from other generous donors.
On average, HART supports over 300 transfers of critically ill patients a year. When HART is not supporting critical care at the rural sites, they are actively working at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital providing many functions including trauma team support, emergency, intensive care, pediatric and critical care nursing.
The T1 transport ventilator may very well come into play at any time when it comes to saving live. Thank you to everyone for their support on this project!
